French Press Instructions
The concept of a French Press dates all the way back to 1852, with its formal design patented in 1924. It is an easy way to make a delicious cup of coffee and requires minimal practice to perfect.
What you will need:
- French Press
- Fresh coffee
- Coffee Grinder
- Scale
- Kettle
Since the French Press is an immersion brewing style we are going for a coarse grind. We like to use a recipe of 1g:12g ground coffee to water.
Weigh your ground coffee into your French Press.
Heat your water to 200F and make sure that during the beginning of your pour you are getting all of the coffee evenly wet.
Finish filling the French Press with your desired amount of water, then replace the lid and let it sit for four minutes.
At the four minute mark, slowly depress the plunger until you can no longer push it and all of the coffee grounds are at the bottom of the Press.
Serve and enjoy!
